Mighty Rivers Meander 7/8 day expedition
Explore the Zambezi River, Chobe River and the great, grey, greasy Limpopo River
Day 1 - Fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport to Victoria Falls arriving at lunchtime. Airport transfer to A'Zambezi Lodge. Visit Victoria Falls in the afternoon and walk through the rain forest alongside the edge of the Falls and enjoy on of the natural 7 wonders of the world
Day 2 - Choose from a range of activites on offer at the Victoria Falls. These activities are an additional cost not included in the expedition. Please ask for more information on what is available.
Late afternoon sunset cruise on the Zambezi River from A'Zambezi Lodge and a delicous alfresco buffet dinner to end your day.
Day 3 - After breakfast at 8.00 catch a transfer shuttle to the Kazangula Border about and hours jouney. Go through the border on foot and be collected by Serval Tours and Safaris guide on the Botswana side of the border. Enter Chobe National Park and take a short game drive to your campsite. Enjoy a campfire lunch before doing a game drive in the Chobe National Park. Enjoy a campfire dinner and sleep in dome tents on very comfortable stretchers with bedrolls.
Day 4 - Awake at 5.30 am with the delicious smell of coffee brewing on the fire. Have a light snack before heading out on early morning game drive. Have lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge and spend time around the pool before heading out on a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. Head back to the campsite for dinner
Day 5 - Awake at 5.30 am have breakfast and pack up camp. Drive to Nata and have lunch at Nata Lodge whilst the crew set up camp. In the afternoon explore Nata Bird Sanctuary. The best time to take this expedition is in May because there is a chance of seeing great flocks of flamingoes and pelicans.
Day 6 - Saleda Safaris vehicle will collect you from Nata Lodge at 8am and transfer you to Saleda Lodge. You will arrive at lunchtime. Relax around the pool and have a massage at the spa before going out on an afternoon game drive.
Day 7 - 5.30am game drive with a light breakfast returning to the lodge at 8am pack and leave by 8.30 to drive to Johannesburg to catch your international flight home in the evening or stay the night in a Johannesburg airport hotel and fly home the following day. This expedition can include more nights at any of the above-mentioned destinations.
Rates - BWP 3500 per person per day for a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 6 people. Bookings for 1 person will be charged at BWP 10500 per day and for 2 people BWP 5250 per person per day. Flights not included in the price but all road transfers, park entry fees, accommodation, food and soft drinks included.
Desert Trail - 8 day expedition
In Africa when you see a sunset you see the hand of God
Day 1 - Arrange to arrive into Maun on the midday flight from Johannesburg and the team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your Maun accommodation. In the afternoon a helicopter flight over the Delta can be arranged (an additional USD 710 for a 45 minute flight for 3 people), or a trip to Maun's Game Sanctuary for a walk amongst animals that are not dangerous, or just browse around the curio shops and cafes of Maun.
Day 2 - The team will collect you from your Maun accommodation at 5.30am and drive you to Deception Valley campsite in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve ("CKGR"). It will be a 6 hour drive. The first 3 hours on tarmac road and then on dirt roads as you head in to the CKGR. You will stop on the way for refreshments at Rakops River Lodge. On arrival at the campsite the team will set up camp and serve you lunch as you rest in the shade. In the afternoon once it is a bit cooler you will go on a game drive with a professional guide to explore the wonderful sights of the desert. In the evening watch the magnificent sunset followed by story telling around the campfire accompanied by a delicious meal will round the day off perfectly.
Day 3 - The delicious smell of coffee at 5.30am will awaken you and the morning game drive will start around 6 - 6.30am as the sun is rising. The desert is cool in the early morning air and the beauty of the salt pans in the morning light breathtaking. Explore more of the CKGR with your guide. Refreshments and a light breakfast served out on your game drive. On return to camp lunch will be served followed by an afternoon siesta in the shade to recover from an early start and to get prepared for the afternoon game drive. Evening dinner and campfire will bring your day to a close.
Day 4 - Pack up camp at 5.30am and after a light breakfast drive to the Khumaga Camp Sites in the Magkadikgadi Game Reserve ("MGR"). The campsite is positioned on the river banks and this attracts a wide variety of game. After a 5 and a half hour drive the team will provide lunch and set up camp whilst you relax in the shade. A game drive in the late afternoon exploring the new sights and sounds of a different environment followed by dinner around the campfire.
Day 5 - Wake with the sunrise and enjoy a day exploring the MGR with your professional guide following the same pattern as established in the preceding days. You will not fail to be amazed by the immensity and raw beauty of the desert scenery and the wildlife that live in it.
Day 6 - Pack up camp at 5.30am and after a light breakfast drive to the Nxai Pan Camp Sites in the Nxai Pan National Park. After a 3 and a half hour drive the team will provide lunch and set up camp whilst you relax in the shade. A game drive in the late afternoon exploring the new sights and sounds of a different environment followed by dinner around the campfire.
Day 7 - Wake with the sunrise and enjoy a day exploring the Nxai Pans with your professional guide following the same pattern as established in the preceding days. The nearby cry of the jackal and the roar of the lion in the distance you will remember for a lifetime.
Day 8 - Wake with the sunrise pack up camp and drive back to Maun to the ariport to catch your afternoon flight back to Johannesburg. Additional nights at any of the destinations can be included in your itinerary.
